Clean Windows 10 Install freezes @ Getting devices ready

Hello

I'm trying to clean install windows 10 in an Inspiron 3593. I have downloaded the latest Dell Windows 10 ISO (USB option) using the Dell OS Recovery Tool and tried a clean install following the instructions shown in the How to install Windows 10 from the Dell ISO  (e.g. exactly as the video in this page). When installation reaches @ Getting devices ready (and @ random completion % each time), the whole procedure freezes, that is, the dotted circle freezes and does not proceed further even when the laptop is left in this state for several hours. See below photo as well...

Any ideas are welcomed.

Since everything is deleted from the HD (??), when I tried to download the SupportAssist OS Recovery option in the USB, it does not work and it also freezes when SupportAssist starts (after selecting with F12 the USB).

The procedure I follow is

  1. Connect the USB recovery media that you created to the Dell PC where you want to install Microsoft Windows 10.
  2. Restart the PC and when the Dell logo appears, tap F12 key until you see ‘Preparing one-time boot menu’ in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. On the boot menu, under UEFI boot, select your USB drive and press Enter.
  4. Select the language and keyboard layout.
  5. On the next screen, click Install now,
  6. Review the license agreement, and select I accept the license terms.
  7. On the ‘Which type of installation do you want?’ window, click Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
  8. On the ‘Where do you want to install Windows’ window, select the internal disc as the Primary Partition. I delete everything already there...
  9. Windows setup finishes and the Dell logo appears and freezes when @ Getting devices ready

Thank you

After working with Dell Support offline, the solution to this problem was to reset the BIOS to Factory Defaults.

Yes. It installed perfectly AFTER I reset the BIOS to Factory Defaults.

After days of tossing and turning and trying various methods, I finally found the final solution here.

Try this steps -

Go to Windows.~BT folder in C: and make sure you checked Hidden items option in the toolbar.
Delete as many files and folders as possible (you won’t be able to delete all of them due to permission issues).
Go to C:/Windows/Software Distribution/Download and delete everything within that folder.
Right click on Start Menu button and open Command Prompt (Admin).
Windows 10 installation error
Type the following command and press Enter: exe/updatenow

Some users who received Windows 10 as a free upgrade through Windows Update received an unexpected error 80240020. The reason for this error is reportedly due to the overloaded Windows servers, which may cause you to receive corrupted download files.

Wait for a couple of minutes and then check if Windows Update started to download Windows 10 again. Once the system is downloaded, you’ll get the message Preparing for Installation.

After that, when you receive a message Your upgrade to Windows 10 is ready, restart your computer and try to install Windows 10 again.

Greeting,

I have a similar problem but in my case, it's Windows 11. I tried the solution above, but no luck.
