Dell Help & Support Center: Broken Links To Windows Update
When I go to the "Dell Help and Support Center" and click on "Windows Update" (under the "Additional Resources" heading), I'm directed to "Search Microsoft.com" at
http://search.microsoft.com/search/search.aspx -- which includes some sort of Dell Help and Support Center overlay.
The same problem occurs when I click on the "Compatible Hardware and Software" link residing on the same "Dell Help and Support Center" page.
How can I re-establish or fix the broken links so that "Windows Update" is instead linked to
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=en-us
and "Compatible Hardware and Software" is linked to (presumably)
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/catalog/
Clearly, there are other ways to access these web sites/pages, as shown above.
As such, my question is more of "housekeeping/cleanup" nature.
Specifically, how can I fix these broken links?
I 've already tried searching theses Forums -- and while I've found a few vague references to this problem, I yet to read a solution.
Note : System Restore did not work
Vitals: Dimension 8200/XP Home/SP2
Thanks in advance!
