Some problems with my 15R 5537 after installing Windows 8.1.
With Update 1, things are getting even worse everyday.
In seven years, never had a single problem with my HP bought in Portugal . Here in Brazil, I´ve decide to buy a Dell, because I was told they had the best service, but I came to the conclusion they have no answers for these issues.
Shame on you Dell.

Thanks a lot @casalvjarr. This is the correct solution for this problem.
I´ve tried upgrading driver to 14.4 and it didn´t work. I´m sticking with version 13.9 as you suggested.

SOLVED. I've got a 15R 5537 with Windows 8.1 here in Malaysia.
Solved it by downgrading my Intel(R) HD Graphics Family driver from version 10.18.10.3412 to 10.18.10.3308 (downloaded from Dell website at http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/inspiron-15r-5537?retrieveState=True). Make sure you choose the right Windows version.
Current video drivers I am using:-
AMD RADEON HD 8670M:
13.151.0.0 (latest on dell website)
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family:
10.18.10.3308 (latest on dell website)
Both versions working well. Sleeping and waking up happily. :) Hope this helps everyone facing the same problems.

Not a quality issue because with win 7 there is none of these problems and works great...
So they are right, it is a driver issue...

I have Dell Inspiron 15R and I have the same problem. I tried everything with no success. This started after upgrading to Windows 8.1. Please someone from Dell, Microsoft or Intel answer our query.

Dell technician , shame on you.
Dell costumers are being treated as guinea porks, because you cannot solve these problems.
