Dell Inspiron win 7 32-bit need help ...!!!
Dear Dell Community,
I am from Vietnam, and I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 1564.
I installed win 7 ultimate 32-bit for my laptop, and downloaded Dell - Utility which was recently uploaded, unfortunately, my operating system is incompatible with this application.
I know this application only work on win 64-bit, but my laptop now is running win 7 32-bit, can you tell me what to do now ???? This software is recommended urgently for my system .....
Thank you so much,
Mathew

Mathew,
Try using the Vista Compatibility mode. Look like the Dell Utility is compatible with other operating systems, so it's probable the Vista version.
Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

What update are you trying to install? What OS did Dell install on the system before you switched to 32-bit Win 7?
And are you sure you still need that update if you're running 32-bit Win 7? It could be that the update was only for the 64-bit OS.
If you search for updates by using your service tag number, you'll probably only find things needed for the OS that Dell installed at the factory and they may not be needed for the OS you're running now.

Hi Ron,
I am trying to install Dell - Utility ( in System Utilities in Drives and Downloads), when I bought this laptop, they, Dell Kiosk in Vietnam, installed win 7 32-bit.
I think I still need this application but anyway, thank you so much for helping me .... ^^

Hi Rick,
I have tried to follow your suggestion, but it still doesn't work, it said: This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor. What should I do ?????
Thank you for helping me .... !!!

I flagged this for the moderators.
If Dell routinely installs 32-bit Win 7 on this system, there should be an entire page of 32-bit Win 7 drivers. But right now they're only providing 64-bit drivers.
For now, just ignore that system utilities update because it may only apply to 64-bit Win 7.
Hopefully one of the moderators will get you some answers.
