Dell Latitude D620 cannot install any o.s
Hello i need help with my dell latitude d620 i purchase it without a hard drive and i install one and when i try to install windows 7 or windows xp it wont install. It will say windows is loading files then it will say starting windows and the bar will stay like loading and once it finish the screen will stay black and stay like that. Please help thank you

Hi ottlite,
As you say that you can see the windows log in screen then goes to blank, check if the computer boots to in Safe mode with networking. Restart the computer and tap F8 on Dell logo. Advanced boot options screen appears. Now select Safe mode with networking.

Hello dell rajesh r
It dosent boot into safe mode and the logo appears when i try to install win 7 but it will not go any further like asking you on what disk you want to install the os

Are you using Windows 7 media with Service Pack 1? Are you loading the 32 or 64 bit version of Windows? Have you ran the preboot diagnostics?

Make a bootable diagnostic CD, follow the instructions in section 7 Running Dell Diagnostics/F12 Pre-Boot Diagnostics.
Run the extended diagnostics just in case.

Yes i am installing a windows 7 32 bits service pack 1 and on the diagnostic it said pre boot system assessment complete. No Diagnostic utlity partition identified. please select ok to reboot your system.

I resolve it thank you i guess it had to do with the bios options under the integreted nic or the internal modem i turn them off and i boot thank you people for all your help and your time have a nice day
