Dell Media Direct 3.0 Reinstall

Hello,

I had to reinstall windows on my 6400 inspiron, and when I was going to, I saw I had to reinstall Dell Media Direct before I reformatted. So I reformatted the computer about 20 different times to try to get Dell Media Direct to install, but it will not reinstall.

I boot the computer from the Dell Media Direct 3.0 reinstall disc, I select option 1 to use all of the hard drive, it does its thing, then it tells me to load the OS cd, and hit any key to continue.

It restarts and I boot the computer from the Windows cd, I do the fresh install, and when I go to pick where to install windows, there is one unpartioned space at about 50 meg, the other is the C:\ and the last is Dell Media Direct at 2055ish meg. So I install windows in the C:\

Windows installs and I install drivers like, video, ethernet, wireless, and a sound driver from the dell website.

But after all that, I put the CD in, and the cd doesnt auto play.

I go into My Computer, double click on the CD/DVD drive, and it gives me an error.

I tried to explore the CD, and I installed Dell Media Direct from one of the folders, but I cant pick power options, and the media direct button doesnt work, the mouse scrolls dont work, when I try to hibernate it with FN/F2, it doesnt work.

And after that, I put the disc back in, and it loaded up this time, so I try to go through the installation, and I get to 6%-12% before it tells me that I didnt prepare the hard drive right, and it tells me to hit esc to quit.

Help please!

Thanks in advance
