Dell Preboot Manager

I want to remove the BIOS password that was created during the configuration of the Embassy Security Center software. Can this be removed?

I have recently purchased an Optiplex 745 and was playing around with the fingerprint reader, in hopes of setting it up to use for my Windows login. During the process I set up a BIOS password (and it keeps prompting me, after I enter the BIOS password, to create a HD password), but I do not want this. Can it be removed (along with the prompt for the HD password creation), but still allow me to use the fingerprint reader for logging into Windows? If not, I would like to remove the entire program (with all passwords) from my computer. How do I do that?

Thanks!

The bios password is Not part of Windows, it is stored in a chip on the motherboard, controlled by the bios.

What form factor is that 745, there are 4.

There are different bios passwords also,

1. System Password

2. Administrator Password

.

Here are the Doc's on that Model, I found the password info under "Advanced Features"/"Password Protection"

Be sure to pick the correct Form Factor, as the instructions for resetting the bios passwords for some are different.

It's the mini-tower and it's the system password.

Thanks!
