Dell XPS 8500 shipped with wrong operating system
I've just found out today that my XPS 8500, which should be delivered tomorrow, has been shipped with Win 8 Home instead of Win 8 pro as per my order.
I spoke to a customer service rep and he mentioned i may have to send the unit back. Surly they can send an upgrade disk as I've waited long enough and don't want to go through that hassle especially as it's not my fault to start with.
Anyone else had this problem?

You will be able to add features to windows 8 and that includes upgrading to Pro. You will be able to easily upgrade to pro if it is not already installed and Dell should take care of the $70 upgrade charge if any. Don't jump to conclusions until the unit arrives. The packing slip info might be wrong. You should not have to send it back.

However if the machine ships with Windows 8 and not WIndows 8 Professional you won't have downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional even if you purchase the add features. You should verify what OS the machine has on it when it arrives. If it doesn't have the Professional version contact Dell support when it arrives.
