Desktop gone after 365 migration

I've just migrated my Precision 5770 into 365 Family.  All seamed to go well except that my desktop came back with five icons instead of the 35 or so original ones.  Should I be looking for a backup to restore from? Where and what could its name be?  I read that this is somewhat common on this particular PC.  But no answers on line so far.  Thanks
