device manager blank
my device manager comes up blank and when I click scan for hardware changes it does nothing.
No Events found!

click on Start/run/msconfig/system.ini/ here I found all check marks were missing from everything/\. I placed a check in each of the box then opened win.ini and did the same thing then opened startup and enabled all. Rebooted the computer and all was fine. Then went back to start up and remove the programs that I didn't want to start on boot up.
Still do not know why all the checks were removed but that seem to fix the problem. Ran anti-virus and spyware program and remove several spy ware progams. I can only think that one of those programs caused the problem.

Some malware is known to cause a blank device manager, but this is first time I've seen a fix, aside from removing the nasty stuff.
Note to self: remember this post. ;)
