devices and printers locking up when opening or updating

I see that you are trying to update the ‘Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard' on your system. However, it’s locking up the Devices and Printers window.

I’d recommend that you uninstall the ‘Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard' drivers from the system and update the driver available in the link given below.

Also I’d suggest you to check for the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and pair the Bluetooth mouse and check if it fixes the issue.

I know my mouse is transmitting as my phone picks up the bluetooth device.

I uninstalled whatever drivers I  could determine and installed the dell driver you suggested.  I made no difference.  When I clicked show bluetooth devices from the icon in the bottom tray, the devices and printer page pops up and the green line moves across the top at a snails pace then stops.  This widcomm driver file just conflicts with windows.  When i uninstall the file, it shows a bluetooth headset skype proxy open, I close it, and it uninstalls normally.  Then the devices and printer page works great.

I’d like you to try pairing the mouse and check if the mouse is working or not using the system tray icon. This is to check if the ‘Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard’ is functioning correctly or not.

If the mouse is getting paired then it should be issue with the operating system. I would suggest you to try doing the system restore on the computer restoring the computer to the point when the Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard was working correctly or we may have to perform the PC restore on the computer.

So.... I just gave up on the mouse.  Today, I tried installing the latest dell minicard bluetooth update.  It installed.  It is a 2012 updated driver, R226750.  Upon completion, I found that the devices and printers page is very very slow to open and when it sort of does, it shows nothing.  However, everything seems to work.  I selected the bluetooth icon in the bottom right, open settings does nothing, add device cannot find my new cell phone sitting next to me.  

Widcomm says Dell  has to provide me with a driver.  There is a problem I cannot fix.  Any suggestions?  I am A15 bios, windows 7 ultimate, studio xps 1640.  I entered my service code and this is the driver it says to use.
