Don't like Vista - can I use on a different computer?

Bought t a new Dell laptop and couldn't find an option under 'systems' for XP. Got the computer and erased hard drive and installed XP. Now I love it.

Question is: Can I put the Vista on another computer as I haven't used it but I do have the serial and recovery CD? I did buy it after all, just like the fresh XP software.

Unfortunately it is illegal to use that Vista software on another PC, the software you bought is OEM software, so it is tied to the PC that it was sold with for Life .

Just my luck.

I really wish Dell would allow customers the option of XP vs Vista. Especially on a laptop without the expanded video capabilities. The op system is VERY slow and should not be on computers without the extra video requirements of Vista.

Just my two cents.

That is why they come with Vista Basic, no big video requirements with that version.
