Driver not working for Sigmatel 92xx

Officially from Sigmatel, they will not have a supportive driver yet for Vista RC1, and will be developing. I had the same issue on an M140 laptop, with integrated Sigmatel 9200 and once Vista is loaded(which gives you a generic HD Audio driver) sound is there. Now Microsoft allows the HD to default the device to a PCI bus instead of a seperated IRQ. This creates issues for when you download and try to install Sigmatel on some platforms. I had lost all audio capabilities after that. I tried assigning an IRQ to free up resources, tried disabling devices to free up resources, etc. etc. It was a long 3 days of trying a lot of different things. But no go on audio after. Once I received a support email from Microsoft, it all became easier. The only way to assign their HD Audio back to a default IRQ to the PCI bus(remember it is integrated to use the bus) was to reinstall Vista. Nothing else would work , tried all even copying a new directory to the old one from RC1. Safe mode as admin, restore, all of which wouldn't allow the HD audio back for resource use. But a reinstall(which only took an 1hr and 20 minutes after all said and done) was better and I was able to get audio, and relized which drivers now not to try to load until a later confirmation can be released. Just an FYI for my case. But now it is up and running fine. Also found the default Intel 900 GMA drivers supplied by the Vista install seem to be the best. There is not a GUI interface for playing with the Integrated video but the system allocates a few flex of 128 Megs when needed. From the other drivers including Intel's newest back to Dell's version, well I got a lot of mixed readings from only 16 megs to 96 Megs of allocation capabilities and not a 128 range expected. So my benchmarks have actually been for the better off a straight install seems. Remember this is a laptop with a lot of integrated components.
