So I was going to play a game I heard was really good, (Maple Story. 8D ) And it turns out that my grahics card doesn't support 3D.. Or... Something along those lines, so I took a look at my graphics card information, and found that my driver is a 2005 version!
However, I'm having a lot of trouble finding an update for it. Here's all the information I think is needed, let me know if you need more:
Drivers~
Main Driver: ialmrnt5.dll
Version: 6.14.0010.4410 (English)
As you can probably tell, I don't know much about computers at all. I don't even know what half the information I just gave you means. :/
Also, is a driver update normally something that is available for free? I should hope so..
I'm sorry if I sound like a idoit, newbie, or whatever. I'm trying to make sense, really! ):
Thanks in advance for your help!
Oh, also.. I did find some updates for that chipset.. Card.. Thing, but for some reason when I try to install it, I get amessage saying that the driver isn't.. The right one for my computer, and can't install.
If the video card doesn't support 3D graphics, a driver update will not make it do so. Which video card do you have in your Inspiron 600 (is it really a 600m?)?
... Sorry, it's 6000, not 600. And that's the laptop model, not the graphics card, so... I don't know what "m" is. If that's what the number means, then I guess so, but...
The only reason I thought getting an update would fix it is because in the game FAQ on the site for the game, that's what I was told to do if I got the message that I got..
But if an update won't work, I guess I'm outta luck.
A 600m is completely different than a 6000, and 600 does not exist. It's always helpful to get your model number correct because it could lead you to messing things up royally. To find out which video card you have, open Device Manager, expand the listing for Display Adapters, then look to see what you have.
That number was just reffering to the model of the laptop, and I put that in the list of information things becuase I don't know what I'm doing. x.x Anyway, let's see... Yeah. I've got a Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GML,910GML. And it's listed twice, for some reason- Oh, I found the update thing! ^^ I right clicked on it from the Device Manager... Well since I can't replace the video card, if the update doesn't work, nothing will, so I'm sorry for being such a bother, and thanks again. ^^
