E Home Wonder?

I just got my new computer which was supposed to come with the e home wonder card. I have looked through the device manager and I don't see a driver for it. Can someone with this card look in their device manager and see if it shows up and where? I looked closer on my packing slip and it says "Multimedia TV Tuner with Remote Control" part number G8012 and item 320-4157. Is this correct for e home wonder?

 Thanks.

It shows up in the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.  It's listed as "ATI eHomeWonder, WDM Video CODEC".

Mine says Angel MPEG device.  After posting, I opened my case up and took the card out.  It says Emuzed Angel PCI Duel Tuner.  I checked the internet but didn't find out much about this card.  I paid for the e home wonder card.  I don't need the duel tuner capability, I just want a card that works.  I have two issues.  I have experienced a "loss of signal" several times while recording and I cannot capture when out of MCE enviroment.  Anyone else have these problems with the Emuzed card or the e home wonder card?

I seem to be having the same problem.
Got angel card not an e-wonder - don't really care except - I can't get a signal via the svideo signal using any software - MDVD from Sonic attempts to use the card/svideo signal but all I get is a scrambled green screen!
what's going on?
I really wanted to hook my computer for video making :(

Try Windows Movie Maker.  That is the only thing I can capture in except MCE.  I don't really like Movie Maker and want to use other software.

I also ordered when the EHome was available but have received an Emuzed Tuner.  I must say the signal quality is VERY disappointing.

So the Emuzed tuner is a dual tuner?  How is that utilized?

Not too sure since this is not something I am interested in.  I have heard that if you are getting your signal from a set top box, you must have 2 boxes to utilize both tuners.

All you need is a cable splitter to watch 2 channels at the same time.

If the signal is coming from the set top box, you are only receiving the siganl from 1 channel.  If the singnal is not coming through the set top box, you will be receiving all of the analog signals.

The dual tuner is supposed to have a single input and internal splitter. I've got one ordered but currently have the e home wonder. The MCE application is the only one you can use to view/record anything. You cannot edit the output. It is in a special dtv-ms format (I don't have the keywords in front of me because my system WONT BOOT!).
It is a modified Mpeg2 format with embedded metadata. I have been able to view it after renaming it to an .mpg, but I still cannot edit it with any of my DVDComplete (Hollywood, Movie5) software, I cant burn it with my Nero 6.6 stuff, I cannot do anything with it. Microsoft won't give up specs, but they say they are providing some vendors with specs so they can make use of it in the future.

I live near Philadelphia and I captured 3.5 hours of the playoff game two weeks when the system was delivered. It is too big to burn with it's built in burn mode, and it is not editable, so I have to use yet another system to capture it in a format that I can edit. But, since I've been waiting hours for my system to get past the "windows is starting up" message, I probably won't ever be able to do it.

This is a rough version of the single tuner card.  I couldn't find anything with my brief search on the Emuzed web site for a dual tuner.  I'm sure it's custom made for Dell.  I ordered an 8400 in mid-January and I was constantly getting signal errors.  I sent it back under the 21 day Total Satisfaction Return Policy and bought a replacement with the dual tuner.  It seems to work MUCH better, surprisingly.  I still think it could be better though.  The difference between my recorded TV and purchased DVD's is striking.

If I have continued problems with the Dual Tuner I wouldn't have a problem replacing it.  But I think it was like $200 pre-discount to get the Dual Tuner with remote.  I hope it continues to work well.

I'm just using a line from the coaxial jack into my PC.  If I got an extra digital cable box would that help the quality?  I'm still stuck at the low recording resolution though.

Has anyone tried this...it looks like it will work with our PC's if we have MCE:

Here's a link to the user's guide from Dell:

Why didn't they include this with my system?

I did some searching for the format and found a utility called "DRV Editor" which I found at

http://www.thegreenbutton.com/downloads.aspx

It allows you to break your file into segments. I first tried segmenting out all the commercials from a file, but my dvd creator didn't recognize the file when I did that, so I went back to the original file, created just one segment (cleaned up the start and end points), and saved that, and it worked like a charm.  For your long file, you can go in and create a segment of your first part - save that, and then go in again to your original file and create your second segment - save that, and so on.

The copy I hvae is version 1.0 (date stamped version 0.2003.10.8)

good luck!

Consider yourselves lucky you at least get some reception, I actually got the Ehome wonder when i ordered mine and it hasn't worked correctly since i've had it. When i schedule a recording, MCE comes up and says no signal found, but if you click on the live tv, it goes to the tv signal fine. Dell has sent me another card and it still does the same thing, i've reloaded the drivers, even gone as far adn formatting the pc and starting from scratch nddn it still won't record scheduled events.
