EDITED...Please help...Is this the way to reinstall Webcam Central?
Reinstalling the webcam drivers
To reinstall the webcam driver, perform the following steps.
- Close any applications that are currently using the webcam (this may include web pages). Save and close any applications that you are currently working on as the computer will need to restart.
- In the Search box type Device Manager.
- Touch or click Device Manager (Control Panel).
- Touch or click the arrow to the left of Imaging devices.
(When there is not a listing for Imaging Devices, Contact Technical Support) - Touch and hold or right-click Integrated Webcam or USB camera.
- Touch or click Uninstall.
- Confirm the uninstall process by clicking OK.
- Once uninstalled, restart the computer.
Windows 10 will automatically detect and install the Webcam drivers.
I have a Vostro 3700 purchased w/ Win 7, upgraded to Win 10 when the initial free upgrade rolled out. Have never had any problems with laptop until recently. Started with me recreating a Local User Account that had been deleted, and goofed that up. Then, noticed the file structure was in no kind of order. Since my laptop was old, and had so much stuff and unnecessary registry files left behind from uninstalled programs, I decided to do a Win 10 Repair Install with In-Place Upgrade, keeping the Windows.old files.
Cannot find Dell Webcam Central files, so tried to download Webcam Central 2.0 but get message: "Setup could not detect any Webcam Central on your system. Please insure that your Dell Webcam Central is properly installed before running this setup program." Where do I go from here? Integrated Webcam shows in device manager, webcam works, and Dell diagnostics passed.
I'm just an end user, and appreciate all the help you can give.
Thanks in advance!

barb55,
Unfortunately, Windows10 is not supported by Dell on the Vostro 3700. It doesn't mean that Windows 10 will not work on your computer. Dell did not create any Windows 10 drivers.
Below is information that will help you. Also, Windows 10 does not use the Webcam software. It also uses the native Windows 10 drivers that are built into Windows 10.

Thanks for the reply! I understand Dell doesn't support Win 10 for my Vostro. If I understand correctly, old driver was playing nice with Windows 10? I kept my Windows.old files, so can I just move those files over to my new install? My computer has been renamed though...
Please advise if this is possible.
Thank you.

Barb55,
You would only use the win.old files on your computer that you saved to restore windows 7 on back on your computer. The Webcam Central Software is no longer needed in Windows 10. There is software and drivers for the Webcam built into Windows 10.
