Error code 0xc0000225 - Request for installation media for Windows 8

I recently got an Inspiron 15R SE 7520 with Windows 8 pre-installed. This has a massive 1TB hard drive, which I decided to divide into three more manageable partitions and proceeded to do so using EaseUS Partition Master. When restarting the system, I got the following error message:

Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.

Error code: 0xc0000225

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer

Press Enter to try again

Press F8 for Start-up Settings

Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings

1. Pressed Enter. Nothing happens

2. Pressed F8. Managed to find the option to "Restore factory settings". Saved and restarted. Nothing happens.

3. Pressed Esc. Ran the system diagnostics and a couple of hours later, the result is that everything is fine. Restarted and I am back at the blue screen with the first message.

I have searched for this problem, and all the proposed solutions begin by booting from the Windows installation CD/DVD and running a command from the Command Prompt. But:

I don't have any Windows installation media and I can't get to the command prompt.

I didn't create recovery discs.

And the recovery partition on the hard drive is not working.

My request:

I obviously need a Windows 8 installation media. How can I get it? I contacted the shop where I got the laptop from, but they are not replying, and the request  form I found online doesn't work for the UK.

A final update on this issue:

I got the DVD from the shop where I got my laptop from. But I couldn't boot from the DVD automatically.  in order to boot from the DVD, I followed the instructions on here: http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/110162/Add+Boot+Option+using+Insydeh20+setup+utility

After booting from the DVD, I got to the command prompt, and run the commands as in here: http://itsolutionsblog.net/solution-to-your-pc-needs-to-be-repaired/

!BUT! The last command line is wrong. It must be

bcdboot c:\Windows /s z: /f UEFI

without the : after the f. And then there is a confirmation message that the boot files were created

And then my laptop was able to boot as normal.

Just an update on this:

The shop where I bought my laptop from got back to me and offered to send me the installation DVD for a small fee. So hopefully I'll get that on the post soon and at least this issue is sorted. I'll be coming back here and mark the thread as answered once I receive the DVD. And hopefully that will sort the mess and I won't need any further help. Here's to hoping!

Hi,

I am having the same issue with my Dell. Upon turning on, whether only by power on or power + hold F10 or F12, or tapping F10 or F12, it ends up on the same black screen with the option of F1 to continue or F2 for Setup utility (which never works), so the only option is essentially F1 to continue...but no matter what I do or press, I can't seem to reach the BIOS setup page to reboot from USB (I have the disc on USB...

Please advise of any other resources to try. Thank you very much!
