ethernet driver

just re-formatted my inspiron 6000 and did all the drivers.The only thing that doent work now is the ethernet.What driver do I need?

with my dell, the drivers for the "network adaptor", the network card, are on the dell "drivers and utilities" resource cd that came with my computer.. if you have a dell "drivers and utilities" resource cd, run it, and see if the drivers for the "network adaptor" are listed there..

i do not have the drivers disc from dell,for some reason the only sent me the xp restore cd. I got all the other driver from the dell site

look in "dell support" for "downloads" for your inspiron 6000..
 
here is the webpage with the "downloads" for the inspiron 6000.. look under "network drivers"..
 
 
also, like rick said, if you have not installed chipset drivers, and your computer requires them, you should also install those..
 
i don't know how dell expects you to be able to restore your computer if they are no longer shipping "drivers and utilities" resource cd's with the new dells..
