Hello,
I tried the new option. I successfully uninstall everything and re installed .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) but not the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (this will also install the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and the .NET Framework 3.0 SP2). When the computer is in a "normal mode" I have a message saying I have to turn on or off the Microsoft feature. When it's in clean boot mode, the installation start but do not finish. A windows saying "setup error" appeared.
So now in the program and feature I have only the .NET Framework 1.1 but not the 2, 3 or 4.

Hi,
Unfortunately no error message. It's just written "setup error".
I am actually thinking of restoring the computer using a backup that I have on my external hard drive and date from before the update troubles, or to use restore the computer to factory setup.
By using the sac provided by Dell, two error messages came back: the Targeted Read Test and the SMART Short Self Test.
Do you think restoring the computer is the best option?
Thank you

Hi,
I run the test. I got this error message: 2000-0142, Validation:652220. S/N S2WASIQ6 self test unsuccessful
I hope it's nothing bad.
Thanks

Hi PG.,
Thank you for providing the result of the tests. The error message 2000-0142 indicates that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. I suggest you to back-up the data from the drive if you are able to boot from it. Please private message me the system Service Tag, so that I can check the warranty status and provide the options available.
