Flash

Hi I have installed and tried every thing in the help section of macromedia flash and it still only works sporadically. I am unable to view Dennys viewlets,all I get is red x. When right clicking the x I get a box about settings and about macromedia flash version 9.(this is the version I am trying to install) If I click this to try to choose settings the settings box has the red x also.I have run the uninstaller for all versions of flash and reinstalled about 5 times with no luck.I have tried everything in their help forums with no luck and apparently so have a lot of people. It shows up in objects as active x installed and I have been able to run a few swf files on a few web pages but it is very inconsistent.Do I need to have sun java on the computer for this to work? I currently have vm jit compiler.Thanks for any input. Lee
BTW I do not have the kill bit checked in spyware Blaster,and checked the registry for compatability flags. None

try to check if you're getting a message on the top part of your Browser regarding blocked content. Most of the time, your popup blocker is blocking activex and other stuff on your IE. try to also disable/turn off the pop up blocker

im_a_bluescreen, I allowed the install of the active x program and my popup blocker is off,still no go.

WinGenAdv, Thank you for your reply. I did have version 6 and I do have the patch you addressed. I have had this patch for a long time. I went to the sites you referred to and had no trouble accessing them. Flash continues to be a problem,now I cannot even delete the folder in system 32 which shows that flash ver9 is installed. I get a message that file is protected(Read Write). Now I cannot even begin a reinstall of flash as when I go to the site it will just not initiate the install no matter how many times I try.I have emptied all temp folders ,rebooted and nothing will get the install process to start.This is driving me nuts. Thanks again
