follow up on XP Fatal error caused by memory problem

Question

On the second day after I posted last message, I could start up my system without seeing that memory can't read message. I downloaded the spyware, adware and spywareblaster(? can't remember the exact name) and installed them all. It looked better than before for a few days. Today, I got the instruction referred to some memory location that can't write. I restarted the system, I got "system was damaged and couldn't logon, use re-install CD blabla". I inserted the re-install CD into the CD-ROM and booted the system from CD. The system was up. I clicked on my user name to logon. Now the system is doing nothing but hanging there with "Loading your personal settings..." screen.

What should I do? I used the Norton updated version to scan my computer. It didn't find any virus on it.

unplugged my computer and restarted it. Now I saw a setup page. I chose the recovery. Now I am asked for the administrator password. I don't remember I have ever given this password. I tried some of my passwords but can't get through. What can I do now?

If you did press a key and still saw the Logon page, your keyboard was not recognized so your key press was ignored. Try enabling Legacy USB support in the bios and see if that corrects it. Also make sure when you changed the boot sequence you actually saved the setting by pressing F10--or whatever your model requires to save the new bios settings. Look at the boot sequence again and see if it's correct. To turn off the computer when it stalls, unplug it and wait 10 seconds before restarting.

First, I did see  'Press any key to boot from CD.'  because I changed the boot sequese in BIOS. Second, I was told the start a new thread if the problem isn't solved.

You did not boot to the cd if you saw the logon page. Make sure the cd is the first boot device in bios. Then boot up again and you will see the screen that says "Press any key to boot from CD." Press a key and make sure you don't see the Windows logon screen again. If your usb keyboard is not recognized, you will not be able to boot to the cd until you enable "Legacy USB" recognition in the bios.

PS You should keep the message thread together by replying to your previous post instead of posting a new one. That post would have all the necessary info such as which model computer etc.

repaired system by going through setup. However, I am asked for user name and password again. I don't remember if I set them up. is there any default user name and paswword? thanks

Just press Enter. If you never set a password that means your password is null, which is blank. You might have to place the cursor in the password box before pressing Enter.

I entered username with a blank password and waited a few minutes, the screen went back to the logon page without saying anything. If I gave a password, I were told it's incorrect.

New error message got when I tried to login after rebooted my computer again.

"A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for the computer. Error Code: 0x800405aa."

Then the screen said "saving your settings".

Got the logon screen again.

Then tried to login again. Now be able to login. Don't know how long this situation can last.

Any suggestions on my system?

Restarted the computer, got the same old error message as I had before repairation again.

You can't logon at this time. please use your installation CD to reinstall or repair windows. Error code 0x80040507.

Then I clicked the OK. The system is shutting. Is this a system damage or virus problem?

When pressed alt+ctl+del for taskmgr, got failed to initialized properly. Can't do anything except shutting down. Help!
