HEEELP!! Not enough disk space C: to install Vista

My hard drive is 100GB. I have vista Home Premium Upgrade

 

I've really this computer up totally. I hope you can help.

 

I can't even boot-up the install Cd/DVD now. 

 

And I have a Low Disk Space in C: message popping up in the lower right corner of screen 

 

My boot screen says:

 

{Select operating system to start:

 

Windows XP Media Center

Unidentified operating system in C:

 

C: drive says 80+ MG free space

D: drive says FAT32  5+MG free space

 

 

Select MCE and then do a restore to before you tried to install Vista.

Need more info, like how big is your hard drive, and what version of vista, is it a full version or upgrade version.

You can try restarting the computer, on the first screen that appears press F2 and go into setup, make sure the boot order has your DVD as first and make sure your Vista disc is in the drive, it should boot to the disc, once the disc starts go into custom install not upgrade and you will be shown the partitions on your hard drive, you can reformat the c drive and delete the d drive if you wish, start the install and don't enter your Vista key #, it should do a complete clean install that way, after the install  start vista install from within vista and do the upgrade and this time enter your key#. Hope that helps but you will lose all your data you had in xp.

I beleive the OP might have some data to recover first, you failed to mention they would lose all their dta with the reformat.

 

Try a normal boot first, then if that does not work reboot and hit F8 to see if you can boot to "Last Known Good Confguration".

If your Bios does not allow you to designate the DVD drive to boot to first then just designate CD device to boot first or hit F 12 on boot up and choose CD deive.  And change your Bios to disable your first CD device which will allow it to boot from the DVD drive
