Help.... i messed up my dads laptop
My dad has an old pentium 1 laptop and i was trying to make it boot up faster, so i ran msconfig and started taking things off the start up, and now his computer goes to some dos screen i dont know what to do?

If the computer will start in Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key just before Windows starts to load), you can run msconfig form there and restore the items you removed from startup form there.

Hi,
You didn't give an O/S. A pentium 1 would tend to indicate Win 95 or Win 98 at the most.
Try creating a Win 98 Se boot disk by downloading the file from http://www.bootdisk.com. Run the downloaded file to create the disk.
Try a registry restore using scanreg.
Boot from the floppy disk and at teh A:> prompt, type exactly scanreg /restore. there is a space between the g & /
Choose a date from the five shown.
