I have recently paid for Mcafee anti-virus, but am unable to get the full protection even though I have tried to reinstall it several times. Also, having tried to clean up some of my files on my computer to try and speed up my workstation, I appear to have deleted some important system files! Whenever I start up, I get the following message:
The following file is missing or corrupted - C\DELL\RTC.CLK
There is an error in your CONFIG SYS file on line 14

Unable to remove viruses!
When I press any button to continue, I then get the following messages:
- VShield Unable to load device drivers
- ! Could not find a talkworks profile for the enabled voice modem. One must be added via the program setup answering machine.
- Error. The required viruses definitions data files are missing or they are corrupted. Unable to initialize the scanning engine. Please reistall the product.
I am a real luddite and require specific instructions to deal with each of the above problems. I have tried running my DELL Dimension Resource CD (rather than pay £19.99 for a Dell solution) and the 3Com U.S. Robotics CD, but could not get them to work. Please help!
