HELP ME.... SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY GX1p!!!!

When my GX1p starts up, its not really starting up.  It will go as far as the Windows 2000 splash screen and crash.  There is a flash of the "blue screen of death" as I call it and it reboots.  It only goes up to the bars thingy where it says Starting Windows on Safe Mode Boot.  The only thing that would cause this probably is the fact that I deleted all the updates for Windows 2000, since before the updates, the computer ran a bunch faster.  Now, its not working.  Please help me here.  I will really do anything, for I have TONS of stuff on here for school that I need.  Do you think upgrade the system to XP just so I can access the system will work?  I have a XP boot from my brother's Inspiron 5150, but he doesn't use it since he likes XP Pro more, and just a retail one which is the XP Pro.  THIS IS EVIL.  I need access to it.  Any response will help!

With Regards,
Sam

Installing XP worked.  Thanks anyway if anyone was going to post.

Why is it a bad thing. It said I could delete them. So I went for it. Who cares. XP kills 2000. I feel like killing myself for not switching back sooner.

Cheers,
Sam

Unless an update was causing your system problems (i.e. driver conflictions) it is generally a very bad idea to uninstall or delete them.

Also, just because you can do something doesn't mean that it would be the smartest thing to attempt. Especially when it comes to computer systems. Even moreso with Microsoft Windows. :-D

I have to agree, XP does trump 2000 Pro.
