I have in the past reformated the hard drive of my dimension 8200. It started with ME and I upgraded to XP without problems. I adopted a virus/worm and had to reformat about 9 months ago. I have developed problems again that I can not seem to fix and would like to reformat once again. Now however I can not make a format disc. I tried to open the xp ugrade cd rom and reinstall that way but it will not take the license number I have written down. Is there a way to obtain my license number again? I received my upgrade as a Dell freebie when XP first came out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
