How can I start Internet Explorer with start up routine?
Is there a start up routine in Windows XP that can automatically open Internet Explorer when I start my computer to automate what I am doing manually now by clicking on the Internet Explorer Icon to make my DSL connect?
Here is what I am doing, but it takes three attempts to connect to DSL this way.
I clicked on Start, Programs, Right clicked on Startup, and clicked on Explorer.
I draged the shortcut on my desktop to the right hand side of the new Window that opened. This placed the shortcut for Internet Explorer in mystartup folder.
This forces the operating system to open the shortcut when I boot the system, but it
increases my desktop boot time too much, and causes the system to make 3 attempts before it connects to DSL to start Internet Explorer.
Any suggestions?

You might want to use 192.168.1.1 in the internet browser, and click on wizard setup.
When you see the Internet light on the modem on, close the browser. Restart the system, and see if you are still connected.

But you may leave the Network cable pluged in to the system, and then power on the DSL modem while the system is powering on. BUT, to avoid star up delay, power on the DSL modem when you see the Windows XP boot screen.

I use Internet Explorer to browse the internet. When I connect to Internet Explorer it tries to connect to my DSL which has my userid and password saved in the connect box.
So can you explain what you mean by:

More startup programs, more startup time.
