You can't legally use someone elses copy of XP, as you would have activation issues, like you now are. If there is no XP sticker on your computer and you didn't receive an XP installation disk with your third-hand purchase, then you're out of luck and will have to purchase a retail copy of XP. If you had a Dell supplied copy of XP it wouldn't ask for the key code. You must be using a non-Dell XP disk.
on a dell dimension 4550 pc, i got it from a friend who got it from someone else. He did not know the password to get into windows xp so I got a repair cd from a friend everything was running fine until it asked for the product code and it's not there. So how do I find out what it is?
