how do I get oem version of wndows 8
hi,
I brought my dell inspiron 3520 last year. My hard disk has now crashed and I brought a new hard drive. I have retrieved my windows 8 key from bios but do not have a recovery disk. I tried to download windows 8 from but it does not recognize my key.
Can someone help me get OEM version of windows 8.

If you have a Windows 8.1 .iso it will reject the Windows 8.0 key however installation is still possible with a generic product key. See the notes here for the generic product keys, recovering the OEM product key and activating with "change key":

If you are using the retail downloader, note it will not accept the OEM product key, see here:
