How do I install windows themes?

Question

I've recently downloaded some new windows themes but i dont know how to get them to work.  Do you have to put the files in a certain folder or something?     I do know that when all is done you are supposed to right click on desktop - properties - themes tab and select what theme u want...

Please give more information on what you did to download the themes. Did you simply save/unzip files to your hard drive, or was there an install process? You'll notice that when you select Themes from Desktop..Properties, the last option in the Theme: dropdown gives you the ability to "Browse..."

The default location for themes in XP Home Edition is C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, but they'll work from any location. It may just be a matter of pointing to the right location. If you're unsure, search for files with the extension .theme
