how to backup OS to partition?
I want to install my XP OS and XP Office CDs on my Dimension 2350 to a partition on the harddrive so that I don't have to put the CD in if I need to update drivers, languages files, etc. I've seen it before (network and individual computer) - can anyone tell me how to do this?

The subject line and message body are two different subjects. What are you trying to accomplish?

I guess I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone: a back up of my OS cd, and the convenience of not having to dig up and put my XP disc in when a language or driver update needs it.
I haven't tried just copying the cd contents to a partition (I just finished a reformat and clean install of XP home, and don't want to muddy it all up unnecessarily) - any suggestions on creating a partition or folder that can be used in place of the OS cd?
