How to reinstate Digital Line detect in startup.

Inspiron 5100 Xp home.

I deleted Digital line Detect from msconfig & or programs/startup.  Can't remember which?

I now want to reinstate it in startup, it is no longer in msconfig.  And cant find a Disabled statup items folder (As in win 98).  Maybe Xp does not have one.

Can't find a box to check on modems?

Help please .

If you can find the program you need, drag a shortcut to the start button, hold it until Programs open up and drop it in Startup.

Yes I have the program  it's DLG.exe.  Thank's that was my own last resort idea.  Was trying to see if some other direct/ reinstate method.  On the old win 98 there was a folder with "Disabled startup items" guess they dropped it on XP.

Reg. Frank R. Thanks for you reply.

Do you have a digital phone line? If not, why would you want it to run at start up and consume system resources?

Hi

So if you don't have digital line for internet and you don't never take your computer out of your own home you don't need digital line detect in the start up folder? Is this correct?

What if you get connected to digital line internet, do you need to turn it back on? I guess you'd have a different DSL modem then, wouldn't you?
