Make sure that you are in the same workgroup. Always best to start with the simple stuff.

I already revised that the work group of my net is the same one, but it doesn´t work even this way. A thousand thank you for their attention and collaboration and I hope you can collaborate me.

Thank you.

Your firewall may be blocking access.

My firewalls is disabled and the workgroup is the same,  but it doesn't work even this way, I cannot see the other net resources. I usually receive mail, I can connect to my server but I can not connect to the other shared stations or shared printers.

Thanks.

Hi,

1 If you have XP Pro check this setting

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View
Scroll down to the bottom and make sure that
"Use simple File Sharing" is checked

2  Right click the "My Network Places" icon on your desktop and select "Search for Computers".
Type in the full name of the computer you need to find and click search

3  Go into "My Network Places" and select "Add a Network Place" from the left menu
Click next
Select the second option, "Choose another network location" and click next

On this screen, type in the full path to the network share on the other computer.
The syntax of the share should be \\computer name\sharename

For example it would be something like
\\Computer  Name\Shared Documents  (or the name of the folder you are sharing )

XP should then search for it

Can all the other computers see you?

Hello again....! I have windows xp home....  but I followed the steps that you suggested me, but it did not work. You ask me if all the other computers could see me, yes, they can see my computer, but they can not use or see my shared resources.

I really need help, I need with urgency to find the flaw, because daily I need to use the shared resources. I thank the whole help that you can give a lot.

Thank you

Here are some more things to check

Do the other machines have XP installed?

Make sure that the folder you are sharing has been configured to "Shared"

Try these

1 Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Admin Tools/Services
Look for  "Computer Browser" and make sure it started and set to Automatic
If you had to start it
Reboot
Check if fixed

2 Try running the Wizard on the problem machine
Go to My Network Places

On left hand side select  “Set up a Home or small office network”

Be sure to enter the same workgroup and computer names as before.

Last page of the Wizard asks if you want to run it on all the machines. Since the other machines are configured fine just answer “No” to that, so just exit that page.

Reboot
Check if fixed

3 Turn on NetBIOS over TCP/IP
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections.

Click Network Connections.

Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.

Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.

Click the General tab, and then click Advanced.

Click the WINS tab.

Under NetBIOS setting, click Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, and then click OK two times.

Click Close to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.

Close the Network Connections window.
