I.E. 6 and Windows 98SE
I'm running an old HP 550MHz which has I.E.5 (not 5.5) on it and I was wondering if there are any issues that I should be aware of before upgrading to I.E.6 or if I should do it at all. I cannot find an upgrade to 5.5 so I guess Microsoft no longer supports it. I have read of some people having problems with IE6 and like 5.5 better.Then again there's always those that like the older software.
I'm getting an occasional "freeze" when clicking on links and thought IE6 might fix this unless there's a seperate fix for freezing.

This site supposedly has 5.5 SP2 available for download as a zip file.

I have been running IE6 on my Windows 98 SE system since it was released in beta and have never had a problem with it.

I am running 6.0 on a machine with a 200 Mhz processor, runs fine. . maybe even better than with 5.5
