When my daughter exits IE, she gets the following error message every time.
iexplore.exe application error.  The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c81eb33.
When she clicks OK, then she gets a runtime error 217.
These errors do not appear for other users (namely me) on the same machine.
Thank you for any help you may provide!

Hava a look at this thread on Wugnet

Hi Movies63,

Did you also limit the size of the folder ?

If so, it might be worthwhile running this clear cache program from MS

Make sure to read this additional information from the page.

- Running this program does not send any information to Microsoft.
- Running this program might delete passwords that are stored in your temporary storage location.
- Before you use the tool, make sure you have the passwords for websites you visit on a regular basis.
- Running this program might cause some webpages to work incorrectly. This means that personalization you have set up on websites that use cookies might not work after you delete cookies.
- You can remove this program at any time.

I had changed the file size to 50mb, just forgot to include that in the note.

I ran the clearcache program from both the main administrator user acct and my daughter's account.  We are still getting the same error message when exiting ie on her account only.

You could try changing her account temporarily to administrator to see if it makes any difference. If not, then maybe try removing the account, rebooting and setting up a new one. If I come across a better solution I'll let you know.

Checking through some things, do you have XP Pro or XP Media Centre ? Any chance you have mTheater installed.

I will try re-doing the user acct. I have xp home and do not have xp theater.

I created a new account, but still had the same errors.  I changed her account to administrator, and don't get the error messages.

Glad to hear it. One thing I came across was that it could possibly due to having script debugging enabled in the advanced internet options. Wouldn't hurt to disable both settings (Internet Explorer & Other)
