Hello,

Do you know what the exact error message is you received?  What version of Windows are you running?

I hope I don't encounter the same problem because I'm going to buy TurboTax 2003 in a few days.  Always remember to temporarily disable your anti-virus software before installing TurboTax.

I have TT 2003 (basic) installed and have finished filing my taxes with it.  No problems on installation, but I did disable Norton antivirus for the installation.

I get the same message "internal failure 0x80040707" when I try to install mini ipod and it tunes. Also "Itunes access is denied"

I have windows xp and have disabled firewire, spyware, and panda anti virus. The installation continues and I can use the software, though.

Later there are unexplained hangups in updating songs, so I don't know if it because of the installation error. I know you are all talking Turbo tax, but I installed it, without error messages and without turning off all the other software.

The Intuit site has a lengthy list of error messages and possible solutions. Here is one that applies to Error -5011: 0X80040707 - during install of TurboTax:

http://support.turbotax.com/kb/ViewDocument.asp?documentId=1064&categoryId=90473

Or start at the main Turbotax support page and check the options there:

Hope that helps. I've used Turbotax five years running and have never had a problem.
