Installing games problems

Question

I just received my new dell 4700.  It works great and is replaceing my old compaq presario.  When i try and install new video games, ie. DOOM3 and CALL OF DUTY for example, the install reads and starts installing the first disc, but if its  a multiple disc installation and install ask for disc2 to be insereted into cd-rom , nothing happens.  it took me 4 hrs to finally get DOOM3 installed.  And heaven forbid if its a 3 DISC install, it might read 1st disc, then not 2nd, or will read 1st and 2nd but not third.  These games are brand new and some i have had installed on my old comp with no problem.  I cant ebelieve its the disc because sometimes it reads the second and then not the third.  Any idea why this is happening?

Others may have a better idea of what the problem is, but when you install games, make sure you do not have the anti virus software running, which may interfere with the install.  This has happen with many of us on some games, not sure on those that you are trying to install.  Also, make sure you are not connected to the internet when you turn off the anti virus software during installation of a game.  Good luck
