Installing Norton Internet security 2007(designed for vista) on window vista

I am not sure of your specific circumstances but I wanted to share my situation.  I purchased Norton Internet Security 2007 in late December of January of this year (retail).  At the time, the box clearly stated that it was Vista compatible.

 

However, as I learned, once I got Vista, I had to go to symantec.com and download the "latest" version of this 2007 that actually is fully compatible with Vista.  So what I am trying to say is, if you have a CD for Norton Internet Security 2007 (that was released prior to Vista's official release), it may be necessary for you to use the download version off the web site. 

 

If this is your situation, it's easy enough to do.  You just install the download off the site and then use the product key off your retail box.

Norton the real problem..................tried three times to install Norton AV 2007 and it hung up on me everytime the third time i had to hard shut down then it tried to start with windows and locked me up

Yeah it was fine as trial software so i decided i wanted a hard copy...gee thanx Norton

Have you downloaded the Symantec uninstaller tool/removal tool from their website yet?

 

You have to run this exe, to clean out the registry etc. Norton really embeds itself into the system, if it has a problem you have to use Symantecs uninstaller/removal tool....restart.......to start afresh!

PS are you using vista 32 or 64 bit OS?
