Installing VIIV software on clean Vista system

Does anyone know the trick for getting VIIV software loaded on Vista?  I have a new XPS 410 system that came with XP Media Center and had all the VIIV stuff loaded.  I have now installed Vista Ultimate clean, and cannot get viiv loaded.  According to Intel's site you need viiv 1.6 on Vista.

I've dowloaded 1.6 from Intel, but the installer for 1.6 insists on verifying that you already have 1.5 loaded.  If you loaded Vista clean rather than upgrading XP (as I did), you don't have 1.5 on it anymore.  Ah ha, the solution is to re-install 1.5 and then upgrade to 1.6.  No, that doesn't work either.  Their 1.5 installation insists that the o/s be Windows XP Media Center rollup 2.

I'm stuck in the middle for now.  I've emailed Intel support, but I thought maybe someone here has already figured out the solution.  Please don't tell me to reload XP and start over.

Thanks,
Tim

Same Problem here too. I have an XPS 400 that I upgraded from PentiumD 820 to the PentiumD 945. I like to catch a show on NBC.com and the best way to watch it requires you to have VIIV. It would be nice to have that feature back.

This is has been resolved.  You can download the full 1.6 copy of VIIV from gateway's site.  Check out this other forum thread for details.
