Internet registration always pops up

Question

Hi everybody,   I have just set up a Dimension 5150. During initial setup there was no internet connection available. So I bypassed the registration by choosing the skip option. Later I installed an ISDN contoller and got connected by an ISP other than the preinstalled ones provided by DELL. Now the situation ist this: Every now and then the Internet Registration screen pops up telling me that I should go to the dektop an get conected to the internet by either Tiscali, T-Online or AOL. Then there is a note that the following procedure might take a minute. Pressing the next-button makes the screen close immediately. And this re-occures three or four times an hour, which is really annoying.   Any help is appreciated.   Klaus

Go to add/remove programs and delete those programs.

I removed all of them. I even made a completely succsessful  internet registration by calling this function directly. But this screen comes up anyway.

Somewhere in your files you still have a program for ISP registration running/active. There could have been 4 of them or maybe a whole list. MSN uses one, AOL is a big culprit, Prodigy, it was like Windows 98 loaded about 4 to ten of them when you installed the OS.
I am sure XP is no different. Sometimes deleting the program doesn't get rid of all of the files or running system for that registration. Try and use search and locate files that may still be in your pc. Only by completely removing them will the problem cease.
