Invalid VxD dynamic link call

After installing WIndows95 SR1, I am receiving the following error message.

Invalid VxD dynamic link call to Device number 3, Service B. Your Windows configuration is invalid. Run the Windows program again to correct the problem.

I have reinstalled numerous times with disablinh the NIC, sound, CD-ROM, and also putting in a different video card, NIC, and keep getting the same results.

This system is at a business that has to run on Win95 SR1, so I cannot try a different version of the OS.

Please help. This is very frustrating. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting this error too  - the diagnostics are reading a bad memory address.

Is the vxd a software thing, or a hardware thing?

Searching Google for win95 "invalid VxD dynamic link call" (including the quotes), I found this Microsoft Knowledge Base article. It's quite detailed and should help locate the source of the problem.
