Irritating spinning circle
Hi, I am using a new Dell XPS 8500 with Win7 64 bit Home Premium. There seems to be something running in the background every 15 secs (spinning circle) and I want to find out exactly what is running and terminate it. Is there a way to find out what is running that's causing the spinning circle? I have checked the msconfig but the list is just to long to narrow down. Thanks in advance!

Hi Mikeraj,
Did you recently install any software in your computer? If yes, try uninstalling and re-installing the software.
Alternatively, I would suggest you to check the CPU usage of the computer.
You may also check in Safe Mode if the same issue occurs. Power off the computer -> Restart the computer, tap F8 on Dell logo 2-3 times -> This will take you to ‘Windows Advanced Boot Options’ -> Choose ‘Safe Mode’ in the Advanced Boot menu (use ‘up’ or ‘down’ arrow keys to highlight the option, press ‘enter’ to select) -> When Windows finishes loading in Safe mode, check if the issue persists.
Please reply if you have any questions.

Thanks Appu. I managed to find the culprit process - HP Network Communicator. This was installed with a network printer. Did a search in HP forum - disabled the continuous ink level measurement, and problem solved! Many thanks!

Hi Mikeraj,
Glad that the issue is fixed. Thank you for confirming. It was a good find; appreciate it.
I was thinking along similar lines; was anticipating a newly installed program causing the issue.
Do reach out in case you have any further questions.
