Issue with .lnk and IE not working properly

Hello,

I had issue on Saturday after Windows updates installed on my laptop...after that all my applications are not working and ..ex microsoft.lnk...I read online and do F8 Last Good know config...it got to work but then went I fixed my wireless it came back to the same issue. Only thing working is internet...

Please help...I don't want to reformat again..if I do install OS XP I don't I need to save everything on my C drives.....

A file with an .INK extension is a shortcut, not an app. Shortcuts can become corrupted. Make a new one or correct the old one by right clicking on it, Properties and correcting it.

I did try that but there are 3 tabs when you right hand click..what you do to fix it?

Also, when i click on Start - Programs - none of the applications are working or opening...

Plus my internet work but not allowing to check email such as yahoo.....

Any help will be appreciated...

The shortcut tab has the path to the program. It's better just to create a new shortcut. But I think you have bigger problems than just a bad shortcut, so ignore that for now. Have you tried a System Restore to before problems started? Sorry I can't think of anything else now. Maybe someone else will jump in here to help.
