When looking at properties, check the dependencies tab. If no files are listed, they are not doing anything, in which case I would just remove them (right click remove). I don't have any ActiveX controls there relating to Java. If they were downloaded at some site (the URL will be shown on the general tab), they will be downloaded again if you need them next time you visit that site.
