Click the “Download” button and you will soon get an option to verify your installation.
When you click on the “Download” button a check is run to see which version you have. If you do not have the latest one the download will start and install it for you too. If you do have the latest you will be told so and no download will start.
If you have to install an update, after the EULA there is a page with
Google Toolbar and Google Desktop checked for downloading, so watch for this and uncheck the boxes if you don`t want them.
Thanks for the info. I did the steps you suggested, and everything checks out fine. I have version 10, but still cant update. It gives me that error code. The test confirmed that it is working fine, but I cant install the update. :smileysad:
Im trying to update because I was notified that "an update for Java is available". Otherwise, I wouldnt have bothered. So, why am I being directed to another website, with the 302 code? Where is this website Im being directed to?:smileyindifferent:
Ok let me explain. Im already using a selective startup with msconfig. I dont think that this has anything to do with not being able to update. As far as running an updater all the time, Im not sure if I am actually. And, why would Java tell me there is an updated version if it wasnt necessary to install it. I mean, I still should be able to install it if I choose to do that. So the problem lies in the not being able to update for whatever reason.
Its hard to say whats causing it:smileyindifferent:
Sometimes there is a "Java Updater" running in msconfig. I think this must be what is giving you the problem. You don`t need to be running an "Updater" all the time so you should disable it. Also you don`t need to keep updating Java unless you start having problems with it.. Then use these links I gave you to check it.
There might be other entries in msconfig which you don`t need. All these entries run every time you boot up and slow down the machine.
Here is how to check them
Start/Run and type in
msconfig
OK
Startup Tab
Keep the page open then go to link below. It will tell you what all the entries are and whether you can disable them or not. It will also identify any malware. Disable
everything which is not needed to run at start up
Hello I am watching this string as I am having the same problems with java upgrade

Open Java (You may need to switch to "Classic view")
Click the “Delete Files” button. Then OK.
