Iam curious what version of java is best for my system ? I just upgraded to I.E. 7.0 and all seems to be working well ,at first some web sites that my young boy was accessing to play games where not working anymore ,however I found after enabling many items that where being blocked I was able to get back the needed plugins ,etc for his websites to work again ! It just so happen Java was one of the items being blocked and this made me curious about java its importance and for my O/S with the 2005 MCE ,what version would give me access to the most web sites ? Thanks in advance to all that reply ,its greatly appreciated !
Sincerely Nick
FYI> After posting this ? I went to Windows Explorer and under Program Files located the Java folder and the version I have installed ,this is what was written
" Java 2 Runtime Enviroment Standard Edition Version 1.4.2"

. Uninstall Sun Java package via Add/Remove Programs. If you see" Java 2 Runtime Enviroment Standard Edition Version 1.4.2"or any versions there uninstall all of them, too. After uninstalling, reboot if directed to do so.
. In Windows Explorer, navigate to and delete C:\Program Files\Java <=this folder (if found).
. When the download is complete, close all browser windows and double-click on the saved file to install the update.
