Jesse, what's the order of processing?
Well, I'm confused--as usual. I ordered my Windows7 upgrades on the evening of the 21th. My order showed processing on the 21st. I got my order conformation right away. On the 22nd my status went blank, showed the order date as the 22nd, and has remained that way since. I do not even have an estimated ship date. I see people here posting they ordered later than me and their order has shipped.
Here's the question, are ship dates dependent on when the system was bought, when you first register, or when you place the order?
I even wonder if the server went down and lost some of us?
Thanks,
Roy

I am experiencing the same thing. I placed my order on the evening of the 21st and the day after all of the shipping and status information was gone and remained empty.
I've emailed Dell through the contact us link explaining what occurred and they simply reply stating i should click on order status for details. Obviously they either did not read what I wrote or do not have an answer at this time.
It looks as if some users are seeing status and shipment information in their accounts. Why would others show nothing?
Thanks for any responses.

Hi Rick,
We both check our order status through that site you mentioned but the order status page displays no information about the shipment. The Estimated Ship Date, Shipper, and Status display no information. The fields are all empty and have been ever since the day after placing the order.
What occurs is the following:
I login->click on order status->order status displays no information (all empty fields) pertaining to the estimate ship date, shipper, and status information.
The only piece of information shown is the Dell Order number and the date ordered which is 10/21/09.

rtn5000,
I'm glad I read your threads. Have been active here for sometime. I registered my sons computer for the upgrade and didn't hear anything. I didn't realize I needed to log in and add it to my cart to get this shipped, it never asked me to do this before.
I'll have to wait but with moving, and the problems others are having, I'll wait and maybe by the time I get the disks, I can search for the solutions for my computer.

rtn5000,
I sent an email also and followed your lead. I am concerned as I read somewhere here that they had server problems. I know my order is there, I can check it's blank status. I just wonder why it went from processing to blank and the date of my order changed. Also, the status page has changed from when I placed the order on the 21st.

It's the same for everyone, the status is blank because your order hasn'tbeen processed. Don't worry though, it should be in the system, just keep checking back with the Windows 7 Update Program site every day (although I have found changes could happen within minutes). Once you do get your ship date & tracking # see my post here as to how to track.

Well, it did have a status of "processing" on the 21st, now it's status is blank. It now shows that I ordered it on the 22nd and not the 21st that it had in the beginning. My email conformation shows it was ordered on the 21st also. That all seem strange to me.
Also, the status page has changed format somewhat.
I registered for the upgrade about 2 months ago and I am wondering if the orders that have shipped were registered earlier than mine, but ordered later.

No, mine is a 64bit & it has already shipped. If the update is an actual Microsoft software package, then according to Microsoft, both 64bit & 32bit are on the same dvd. Also, FYI, all versions of Windows 7 are on the same dvd. You only need different key to upgrade from one version (say from Home Premium to Ultimate) to activate.

Both my systems are 64 bit, I wonder is the ones shipping are 32 bit? Or maybe a different version.

Strange it seems like there is no rhyme or reason to this order of units shipping.

Roy Rogers,
If you have ordered and paid for win7 then it should be fine. You should receive and email when it ships. Seems to be a delay in email replies when customers order their disc. I do not know if ship dates are dependent on when a system was bought. I will ask today in my meeting.

I am in the USA and during the process of adding Win 7 to my cart I was never asked for any credit card information...my order confirmation then stated $0. Is this normal Jesse? I've checked the win 7 site daily for an order status update and it still displays no information regarding shipping or processing.
I can see many others are experiencing the same issue so that makes the whole situation feel some what more settling.
Thanks for looking at the thread!

Yes, that's normal, most people don't have to pay shipping and no credit card is needed. What you're seeing is completely normal.

Jesse L,
Did you have any luck finding out the order of processing and shipment in your meeting? Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks, Roy

Roy Rogers,
They are working on getting the emails out to users that have registered. I will get more information for you.
