Lost Password

Just recently i put a password on my administrator account.(the admin account in the safe mode..) i have lost it.. is there a way to recover it

    It can be done, but it is non-trivial. You can buy a commercial solution for a couple of hundred dollars, or you can take a look at http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and see if that solves your problem.

    P.S.: I should have said: There is no way to recover the password, but the above solutions allow you to erase the old one, so that you regain access to your system and can set up a new password.

    Try :If you can logon in an administrative account goto

    start\run type control userpasswords2

    choose administrator and reset button

    May or may not work I have never used it.

    Do u know if this program u refered me to will work on xp and will it mess up any files. Just wondering

    that program shouldn't, but you never know..... it alters one of the critical system files. if something goes wrong and it is corrupted, you are out of luck.

    a backup of files is recommended before you go boot from the pswd change disk.

    it is compatible however. XP is actually a NT-class OS.

    See if www.seepassword.com resolves your problem. The program reveals the passwords hidden bend the *****.

    I must say site seepassword.com is really good and worth clicking. It feels great when you are able to retrieve lost passwords in just few minutes. Smile is real broad. Thanks for letting us know such a wonderful site

    It feels great to know that my search helped someone. Hey did you check out the pop up buster software on www.seepassword.com.I was bit confused whether i should download that or not. Do let me know if you tried that. Thanks once again for your appreciation.

    I have downloaded that software and it is working fine on my system. I am not sure if there are any particular settings required for that software on the system. But I don’t think there should be any problem in downloading the popup buster. If you don’t find it worthy you can always uninstall it later.
