Macromedia Flash ceased working and Dell Knowledge did not help.

I cannot view some graphics on my Dell 8600 laptop when I am on the internet and at a site. For example, I went to Chevrolet.com and there was a place to look at a 360 degree view of the car, but I could not make that work. The site itself said that I needed the Macromedia Flash software and had a place to download it.  I clicked that and got to Macromedia home page and followed instructions to download, but the software either did not download or would not install. I only got a page with some boxes with small icons in the upper left hand corner. 

I did find some instructions on how to fix the browser and tried that, but that did not help. Then the next step was to reinstall Windows XP.  I first backed up my disk to the C drive (HD) ok.

I successfully reinstalled windows, but I still have the same problem as before. There seems to be no way to download the free Macromedia Flash.  I suppose other Web sites use this as I cannot see all graphics on other sites. Again, there is a blank box with a small icon up in the upper left hand corner. Clicking on this does nothing as it is not linked to any other site, I suppose.

I also noticed that on Yahoo there is a place to send email where it is necessary to enter a word group that they provide in a graphic format. Unfortunately, now this graphic does not show letters at all, just some strange marks or characters having no relation to anything alphabetical, much less an English word and its not a foreign word either. Just junk.

I called Dell, but the person could not help me as I have to talk to software and he is in hardware. He said software wont open until Monday morning as they close for the weekend.

In the meantime I would like to fix this, if possible so if anyone has ideas for resolving the problem, please answer.
