Mcafee privacy service

couple of problems, 1st i must disable privacy service to user the internet. 
 
my computer is running very slow.  from reading a ton of messages here, it sounds like mcafee may be causing it?
 
any suggestion very much apprecated...

thanks, are there any security issues after I uninstall privacy service.. anything i should replace it with?  i use windows xp.

Yes McAfee Privacy service does slow down access,  often severly,  to certain websites (including the Dell forums).
 
I have contacted McAfee about this problem,  and they could not come up with a fix,  other than uninstalling Privacy Service.
 
This is what I finally did.
 
No problems however with Mcafee Virusscan or Firewall.

I have in addition to my McAfee Antivirus and Firewall:

                                        Ad-Aware, 

                                        Spybot Search and Destroy,

                                        Spywareblaster.

All those are free programs.
